Original vintage block printing plate newspaper ad for the 1959 Warner Brothers release of the Toho film Gigantis the Fire Monster (also known by its original name, Godzilla Raids Again). This wooden block has an attached metal plate that was used to print the advertisement for the film in newspapers. Plate is 2.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches long. Block is about 1" thick and has the name of the film imprinted on the sides. The plate can be inked and used as a stamp to reproduce the ad, as shown in the photo. Gigantis was the second Godzilla film, made by Toho in 1955. When it was brought to the US in 1959, Godzilla's name was changed in the hopes that US audiences would think they were seeing an "all new" monster. Ad shows stylized close-up artwork of Godzilla breathing fire. Low starting price on this rare item for sci-fi and monster fans! Excellent condition.
